Hey look! It’s a picture! I can put pictures on here now! Look out. I’ll need signed releases from the people in the picture indicating that you knew and were aware that the picture was going to be made public and you are okay with that. 🙂 No. Seriously.
Look at my cute dog.
Wow. I figured it out! Now if only I knew how to save pics on my computer 4X6 size instead of 27X24. Then I wouldn’t have to spend so much time downsizing and altering. 🙂
So, Happy Valentine’s Day! I spent a most lovely day with Mr. T out in Camden and Waverly, Tennessee. We went to a burger joint for lunch and then explored the Nathan Bedford Forest forrest. No, I guess it is just a state park. We went to the highest point in west Tennessee. At a whopping 669 feet. Yeah. Not really impressive. But the view was nice overlooking either then Tennessee River or Kentucky Lake. There was a cottage up there and we sat on the back porch for a while and enjoyed the view until we got too cold. 50 degrees only *seems* warm.
We decided to trek over to Waverly and a possible coffee shop next. It was a good decision! We had coffee and played Blokus and CIA vs. KGB. I got my butt kicked on all accounts but it was a good time. Then we headed to Lance’s Pizza. Yum! We played Caesar and Cleopatra there. I was totally taking names but the game was called on account of the movie starting.
We decided to take in a movie and the theater was showing Spiderwick Chronicles. Ironically, the night before I had free tickets to the opening at *IMAX* none-the-less but we decided to sneak into 27 Dresses instead. (It was shmaltzy and formulaic but free.) So the fact that the very next night we paid to see it was amusing. There were I think 7 previews (including one for Spiderwick which sort of ruined it!) which made the $6 ticket fulfilled at that point. We stayed for the first 30 minutes of the actual movie. I think we were both tired at that point, had long drives, but for me the whole kid with emotional/behavior issues as family scapegoat just seemed like being at work rather than entertainment. And the kids having to take care of the Mom. Puke.
For Valentine’s Day Mr. T. got an Italian cooking class we will attend tomorrow. For me he got his passport! Yeah! Virtually unlimited travel options now. Oh and he mailed me a beautiful card with a poem written inside which was a total surprise. Then when I saw him he had a “wonder woman” card for me as well. 😀
So here’s a little Valentine’s Day love for everyone from E.B.Browning’s “Sonnets from the Portugese”, I think this is number 21:
Say over again, and yet once over again,
That thou dost love me,
Though the word repeated
Should seem a “cuckoo-song,” as dost treat it,
Remember, never to the hill or plain,
Valley and wood, without her cuckoo-strain
Comes the fresh Spring in all her green completed.
Beloved, I, amid the darkness greeted
By a doubtful spirit-voice, in that doubt’s pain
Cry, “Speak once more–thou lovest!” Who can fear
Too many stars, though each in heaven shall roll,
Too many flowers, though each shall crown the year?
Say thou dost love me, love me, love me–toll
The silver iterance!–only minding, Dear,
To love me also in silence with thy soul.
